A channel that reviewed three products like yours is easier to assess than a creator who only says they cover technology.
This workflow uses YouTube and Google to find reviewers with visible category experience before your product launch.
SocialListeningAPI searches public posts on YouTube and Google results for the phrases you choose. It returns normalized records with source URLs.
Step 1: Build review and tutorial queries
Create a SocialListeningAPI account and claim the 100 free credits. Combine the product category with the formats reviewers use:
portable monitor reviewportable monitor comparisonbest second screen for travelportable monitor setupalternative to competitor model
Add important audience or use-case terms when the category is crowded.
Step 2: Search YouTube and Google
for endpoint in youtube/search-posts google/search
do
curl --get "https://api.sociallisteningapi.com/api/v1/$endpoint" \
--data-urlencode 'query=portable monitor review' \
--header 'x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY'
done
Each phrase costs 2 credits across both sources. The YouTube endpoint docs cover videos, Shorts, and live streams. Use the Google endpoint docs for public web results. Claude or ChatGPT can run the same search through the MCP.
Step 3: Group channels and evidence
Save channel name, video URL, title, topic, published date, and review status in an external sheet. Group channels outside SocialListeningAPI and keep two relevant videos for each candidate.
Use Google results to look for a public contact or media-kit page. Contact discovery and enrichment are separate steps.
Step 4: Review the YouTube influencers by hand
Watch recent videos, not only the channel’s largest hit. Check product depth, disclosure, audience fit, production format, and whether the reviewer handles limitations fairly.
Remove channels that rarely cover the category or require claims you cannot support.
Step 5: Tailor the launch angle
Explain why the product fits the channel and suggest a specific test or audience problem. Include timing, sample terms, embargoes, disclosure, and whether coverage is guaranteed or editorially independent.
Conclusion
The first list only needs a few reviewers with recent, relevant evidence. Contacting every channel that used the category word will waste time.
Save the videos that shaped your pitch. They should explain why each reviewer fits and which launch angle may be useful to their audience.
